About Spring Exhibition 2020 & Mimosa Memory :
My Performance at the annual spring exhibition at Kunsthal Charlottenborg in Copenhagen. A 28 day loom challenge inside a curated fine artshow.
Mimosa Memory is inspired by the delicate fragility of the Mimosa flower and tree. One single touch will destroy the sensitive flower. Same goes for my newly invented material, one single touch of the surface, will destroy the original artwork and leave a permanent mark. Nature is sensitive.
My workspace and the energetic sensations of spaces effects my choice of colors, effects my breath, my inner vision, my ambience, my physical body. In this Performance I explore how my artwork will grow on the loom when I arrange an intimate personal workspace inside of a curated art show. The audience will witness my process live, during the 5 weeks of the show.
My Mimosa project started in Statens Værksteder during a two month artist in residence in the summer of 2019 in Copenhagen. The second and final part of the art piece will grow in Kunsthal Charlottenborg during the annual curated spring exhibition 2020.
I was selected with my loom performance, exploring how it feels to work focused in a public space - challenging the audience to keep a distance, keep silent and NOT TOUCH. My performance endured 28 days, with the last day on march 8th: Woman International day. That same day, we took off the final artwork from the loom in a ceremonial spirit.
This performance was nominated for the solo-award at the Charlottenborg spring exhibition 2020.

Words by Charlottenborg:
The Charlottenborg Spring Exhibition is one of the most important open, censored exhibitions in Europe and has been held annually at Charlottenborg since 1857. It originated as an exhibition showing new works by Danish artists, but today includes participants from many countries. Over the years, the exhibition has presented works by great internationally renowned artists such as Alvar Aalto, Per Kirkeby, Olafur Eliasson, Superflex and many others. The exhibition is organised by Charlottenborg Fonden.
The exhibition allows a considerable number of artists to participate in a major international project and has over the years provided the first significant platform for many emerging artists, while also presenting important new pieces by more established figures.
This year 70 Danish and international artists and artist groups has been selected by the jury among the 736 applications. A total of 134 works are on display this year created by well-established artists, but also by emerging talents from Denmark and Europe as well as Israel, Russia and USA.
