The tapestry-like wall sculpture Palladio was created at Statens værksteder in Copenhagen, as a commission for The Michelangelo Foundation in 2020/2021. Palladio is a unique piece made for the 2022 Homo Faber Biennale: “Crafting a More Human Future” in Venice, Italy, organized by the non-profit organization: Michelangelo Foundation. Palladio was on show in April 2022.
An experience Ill never forget for the high level of value that this organization is providing to Master artisans ww. My deepest gratitude.
Palladio is inspired by the colours of Venice -water, air and sky- and the lace-like octagonal pattern of the terrace of the Basilica of San Giorgio, on San Giorgio Maggiore Island,- a church by the Italien Architect Palladio.
My Loop ~ Medium was invented within the proces of creating this artwork. I had the idea for the Loop Medium from the surface of my little sea snail shells from Skagen in Denmark called: A Pelicans foot. The shells are achitectual perfect in the construction and I carry these shells everywhere since I was a child. The colours of these shells are very similar to the shades of colours in Venice, even though they are from Skagen. The surface of the shells feels like little spiral diamond ribbons, and I tried to resemble this surface in my artwork Palladio.
